  • Gamblers Anonymous - Gamblers Anonymous, is a fellowship of men and women who share their experiences, strengths, and hopes with each other in order to solve their common problem and to help others recover from a compulsive gambling problem.
  • Gam-Anon.org - Gam-Anon is a fellowship for those living with compulsive gamblers.
  • Narcotics Anonymous - Gamblers Anonymous, is a fellowship of men and women who share their experiences, strengths, and hopes with each other in order to solve their common problem and to help others recover from a narcotic addiction problem.
  • Cocaine Anonymous - Cocaine Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from their addiction. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop using cocaine and all other mind-altering substances.
  • Sex Addicts Anonymous - Sex Addicts Anonymous, SAA, is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other so they may overcome their sexual addiction and help others recover from sexual addiction or dependency.
  • Porn Addicts Anonymous - Porn Addicts Anonymous, is a 12-step fellowship for those seeking recovery from an addiction to pornography. Porn Addicts Anonymous is not affiliated with any other 12-step program, church, religious or political organizations, have no other affiliations; and are self-supporting through our own contributions.

National Organizations
  • National Institute on Drug Abuse - NIDA's mission is to lead the Nation in bringing the power of science to bear on drug abuse and addiction. This charge has two critical components. The first is the strategic support and conduct of research across a broad range of disciplines. The second is ensuring the rapid and effective dissemination and use of the results of that research to significantly improve prevention, treatment and policy as it relates to drug abuse and addiction.
  • National Centre for Responsible Gaming - The National Centre for Responsible Gaming (NCRG) is committed to funding research that someday will identify the risk factors for gambling disorders.

State Organizations
  • Florida Council on Compulsive Gambling, Inc. - The Florida Council on Compulsive Gambling is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization that provides information, resource referrals, and support services for problem gamblers, their families, employers and others. They also offer prevention and education programs, as well as professional training for mental health, addiction and medical practitioners, gambling operators, governments, businesses, academia, law enforcement authorities, faith based organizations, and others. .
  • California Society of Addiction Medicine - The specific purpose of the Society is to advance the treatment of alcoholism and other addictions through education of physicians, physicians-in-training, and other health professionals. Additionally, the Society promotes research, prevention, and implementation of evidence-based treatment.
  • Connecticut Clearinghouse - Wheeler Clinic's Connecticut Clearinghouse is a statewide library and resource center for information on substance use and mental health disorders, prevention and health promotion, treatment and recovery, wellness and other related topics.
  • Illinois Alcoholism and Drug Dependence Association - IADDA is a statewide organization established in 1967 representing more than 100 prevention and treatment agencies, as well as individuals who are interested in the substance abuse field. The Association advocates for sound public policy that will create healthier families and safer communities. IADDA members educate government officials in Springfield and Washington, and work to increase the public's understanding of substance abuse and addiction.

Research Organizations
  • Gambling Problems Resource Center - The Gambling Problems Resource Center promotes recognition of problem/compulsive gambling behavior, problem gambling prevention and education programs and treatment resources available in Minnesota.
  • Institute for Substance Abuse Treatment Evaluation - The Institute for Substance Abuse Treatment Evaluation (I-SATE) conducts research on publicly funded alcohol and drug abuse treatment programs in Tennessee, in collaboration with the Bureau of Alcohol and Drug Abuse Services at the Tennessee Department of Health and the Department of Anthropology at The University of Memphis. I-SATE's primary mission is to evaluate the effectiveness of substance abuse treatment clients enrolled in these programs, with a particular focus on special populations, such as DUI offenders, pregnant women, adolescents, and those with co-occurring disorders.
